This paper deals with the effect of double-caging of an three-phase induction machine in respect of harmonic distortion at steady state condition. Harmonics are produced at normal running condition of the motor due to many reasons. Double-caging of the motor changes net reactance to resistance ratio and causes variation in harmonics generation. This results in variation of harmonic distortion produced by the motor which has been assessed in this paper.
